Blueberry Research

My buddy Matt lives in Maine where there is no surf, and the local surfers like to make sure you remember, that even if there was surf you probably wouldn't be able to find it.  Matt is getting his masters and doing research that involves blueberries which makes him a local hero. Some of his "blueberry research" takes place near the ocean and even though there is not any surf Matt needed a board to throw in the passenger seat of his car, just in case he stumbles upon some empty perfection. 5'10" x 20 x 2 1/2 squash tail Avocado with a blueberry resin tint stripe. Fish Tacos

I shaped up an "Avocado" and a "Fish" for my friends today. They are great boards and coincidentally if put together the model names sound like the ingredients for great fish tacos. Here they are (the boards not the tacos). Jake

Airport Run

Borrowed from the Hess Surfboards website
I drove down to the airport yesterday and picked up a couple of my good friends who are going to do a tour of California. We lucked out and got OB really good, we also got to meet Danny Hess and check out some of his boards at "The Wood Shop". It was great to meet him and see his work first hand, he makes some beautiful boards. I got to get in the bay this afternoon and I will have pictures of what transpired in my next post. Jake

Ernie Shaped It, I Glassed It

We headed south today to drop off a 7'8" I just glassed for Ernie and get a little surf. It was a beautiful sunny 10@13 and Ernie was stoked on his board. He tried to take it out for a surf today but I made him wait to let it cure, he will probably take it out and ride it tomorrow when he knows I won't be looking. Jake
