A Shaping Experience

Yesterday I got together with my buddy Josiah to shape him a fish. He wanted to be a part of the shaping experience so we met at the coffee shop early and then got to work. This is a 6'2" quad fish. The nose is pulled in a little more than a traditional fish and it will make the mediocre days of surf super fun. My two year old son came in to check Dada's work, he said the board looked "pretty nice". Josiah was stoked to be apart of his new board and is ready to have it in the water. Jake

The Bay

The recently remodeled shaping bay in all it's glory. The space is perfect functional and close to the family. It's not quite as clean now as I have shaped a couple of boards in it already. On the back wall are two fishes awaiting shaping.

Windy Sunday Afternoon

This is the first post for JNS surfboards located in Mendocino, Ca. This blog will feature little bits of our life making surfboards on the North Coast. This 6'0"x19 3/4x3 quad is the fruit of a blown out Sunday afternoon. The chickens strolled in to shaping bay to peck at some foam dust and check my rocker. As soon as this board gets some glass it will be available for viewing at Lost Surf Shack in Fort Bragg, Ca.
